Maximum temperature settled at 20 degree Celsius, while minimum temperature at 6.4 degree Celsius, causing huge trouble to the masses. Underprivileged populace struggled to stay away from unabated cold. The biting winter season is adding to the problems of those who live on the streets. The major challenge for them is to find a shelter where they can at least be safe from chilly breeze and smog that are usually experienced during early and late night hours.

People woke up to a foggy day today as well. The thin fog cover in Delhi slightly created a mess for the office goers and school going kids. Despite the fact that visibility on the roads wasn’t that bad but many residents cautiously moved to avoid any mishap. Intolerable iciness is supposed to stay in the city for some time from now. In fact, it is to get bitter in the coming weeks. State of affairs is to remain problematic for human beings, animals and birds. If latest weather reports are to be cited then maximum and minimum temperatures of the metropolis will keep on varying in the range of 20 degree Celsius to 23 degree Celsius and 7 degree Celsius to 9 degree Celsius, respectively.

Dampness will be observed between 43 per cent and 55 per cent. Gust will blow throughout the week at speed of 8 km per hour to 18 km per hour. Sky is anticipated to be overcast soon. People heaved a sigh of relief post knowing that December is likely to bid adieu with abundant of sunshine. As per weathermen, dense fog might not engulf Delhi in a little while but there wouldn’t be any escape from wintry surroundings by the middle of January. Slight improvement in conditions will be witnessed only after that. As of now, bonfire on various lanes is saving many from frostiness as this shuns the impact of colder environment as much. Weaker sections look for help from the people sitting in top positions and expect necessary steps will be taken to lend them a hand in comfortable survival at a time when mercury is dropping with each passing day.
