Train and Flight Operations Hit Thanks to Early Morning Haze

train1New Delhi, Thursday, December 24 – It has been not several days when fog begins to appear. Weather of December-end is turning out to be unpredictable. Post shiner days almost a week ago, the Delhi residents woke up to shallow fog today as well. A few days later, thick smog cover is probable to blanket the national capital.

In fact, temperatures during the crack of dawn on considerably dropped. The freezing feel seemed to bother all living creatures. As of today, sky turned clear after 8 o’clock but fog vastly enveloped more than a few regions in the morning time, reducing visibility to a certain extent.

The dwellers of Delhi and NCR who faced searing heat till late October are now making efforts to beat the chill. Biting cold and fog cover in the metropolis is slowly having an effect on the normal life. Vehicular traffic across a number of areas is distorted. Quite a lot of flights took off late in view of the fact that fog hit air traffic as a result of low visibility on the runway. Besides this, many trains ran behind the schedule owing to the same reason.

Passengers are left with no option but to stay stranded on railway stations for 4 hours and more, having no clue when they would board the train for desired destination. Retiring rooms and platforms are full of harried travelers who wish to go out on winter vacation. Foggy mornings may last for some more days to come or might get worse since partly cloudy days are to be witnessed in the coming week.

More to the point, the cold waves, blowing at the pace of 19 km per hour, have gripped the city. Extreme coolness in Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur, Allahabad, Varanasi and Jammu & Kashmir are restricting people within their premises. Some relief is definitely sought through sunshine. Streets aren’t as crowded as these used to be on any other day, especially during early morning. Nevertheless, people are estimated to step out today on account of Christmas Eve.

Weathermen suppose maximum temperature of next 5 days to swing in the range of 18 degree Celsius to 23 degree Celsius while minimum temperature between 5 degree Celsius to 11 degree Celsius. Plenty of sunshine might not be in picture but that is possible to slightly vanish away the signs of wintriness.

Even though intolerable winter hasn’t knocked at the doors, health experts still guide residents to put on several thin but warm layers.  Problems due to wintry surroundings have intensified for those with no place to live. Stray animals are also struggling to keep themselves warm. Bonfires at different places are safeguarding them against dropping mercury. Climatic conditions wouldn’t improve much given that peak winter time is here. Slight respite is only visible during the daylight.
